rolling in the deep

i like this shot because the camera is focused on the glasses at the foreground, so there is a shallow depth of field. The glasses being filled with water really adds to the drama, as the water ripples at the beat of the drum. I believe this is innovative and a good use of props to emphasise sound. They have used natural light from the windows as the main source of lighting, this makes the location look natural and untainted. It also adds shadows to the objects in the room.

I find the way the door frames the shot and brings the focus to Adele interesting. I like how the lighting is dark, yet there is light on her face, emphasising her singing. I like the use of props, as they are simple and don't draw too much attention away from the singer.
i like the use of the studio in this long shot. the set isn't really that hard to make as they've just put black material draping down, and is just a small square of space. The setting isn't really that complex yet looks really professional. the focus is on a dancer who is using sand/dust, to create a really unique looking effect. furthermore, the lighting is dim which fits really well with this shot as it's all in black and white.
In this shot china is being thrown against a white board, smashing, and falling onto the floor. i liked it as it's a very original idea to include in a music video and also the viewer can't see who/ or where the china is being thrown from.
This is a closer shot than the one below, of a drummer. i liked it as it was able to catch all of the quick movement of his actions. it is also a cutaway shot as it's focusing on someone who isn't the main artist. I also like how the viewer knows from the background that the set is in the same house as all of the other sets. This makes the music video interesting as all the music artists involved have separate shots, even though they're in the same location. This helps bulk up the music video and bring a wider variety of shots, even though only one location is being used.
This shot was really hard to capture because of the lighting. it shows a drummer with his drum kit however, the light flashes on now and then, really quickly, from pitch black. There is a good use of lighting, which is a good technique to pick up.
I really like this close-up shot of 'Adele' as it helps show all the details of her expressions. the lighting is really good as the background is blacked out and there is a slight light which shows minimal details, that is jsut enough to see her expressions. We can see her outline just about and the lighting has made a shadowing effect on her face. this helps to exaggerate her features and is a great shot when trying to portray feelings and emotions into a music video.
