Nicole Scherzinger - Don't Hold Your Breathe

I really like this close-up shot because of the use of props and lighting. The holes in the blanket with the bright light streaming through create a nice lighting pattern on the artists face. these natural effects make the shot stand out and be more original than shots in other music videos. Its a great shot to learn from as i can now see that props play a very important part and i can try thinking of some to put to good use.
the lighting in this shot is really dim and you can barely see the artist. I think this is a good effect as the song is portrayign a sad image and this works well with the lyrics, then when the song picks up and lights burst to stream through the room it has more impact. the set is really interesting as its in a house that is empty and looks inhabited. The shot is a long shot which is good as it enables the viewers to see all the detail in the background.

i like the use of reflection in this close-up. it's really interesting as the shot is an over the shoulder shot and yet you can still see all of the artists expressions in the mirror. The effect of this
I like how the artist is sitting down and singing in this medium shot. i was thinking about including a frame where my artist was sitting down in my music video. In this shot the artist isn't looking directly into the camera and her actions are portraying her feelings about the song. this shows that even if the artist isn't dancing or singing her body language and movements are still important. The viewers can still see that the artist is in the house as the lighting is still dim yet the reflection of the window on the wall looks good.
i really like this long shot because of the lighting. You can kind of see that it's not natural light and see where it's coming from because its so strong however has a great impact as it streams through the windows. A wind machine is also being used here and the body actions of the artist are exaggerated by only showing the outline of it in a black silhouette.
i like this extreme close-up with the wind machine blowing her hair. The machine blows her hair off her face so we can see her clearer and also the artist is passionately singing at this point so by having a close-up the viewer can feel her emotions and see her expressions.
